If you want to switch an OKVIZ visual from one licensing system to another, there is no direct switching path. AppSource Licensing and OKVIZ Licensing are managed separately, so the subscription cannot be converted automatically.
In practice, every switch follows the same rule:
- Cancel the current subscription in the original licensing system.
- Create a new subscription in the target licensing system.
- Replace the visual in your reports with the package or AppSource version from the new licensing system.
Before You Start
Before you proceed, keep the following points in mind:
- The two subscriptions are independent.
- Billing history, license state, and assignments are not transferred from one system to the other.
- Switching the subscription does not automatically replace the visual already used in your existing reports.
- To avoid service interruptions, it is best to plan the switch close to the end of the current billing period.
- If you move to AppSource Licensing, remember that AppSource works with per-user assignment.
Choose the Switching Path
Select the guide that matches your current subscription:
- AppSource → OKVIZ, if your current subscription is managed by Microsoft and you want to move to a direct OKVIZ subscription.
- OKVIZ → AppSource, if your current subscription is managed directly by OKVIZ and you want to move to Microsoft AppSource.
If you are not sure which licensing system is best for your scenario, start from the Licensing Overview.
